Help
A short guide to using PP2 Forum. You can read everything without an account; you need an account to write.
Getting started
- Sign up: nickname, email and password (at least 12 characters; a long sentence works). While the forum is in its closed phase you need an invite code from the administrators.
- Open the verification link that arrives in your email and press the button. After that you are logged in.
- Read the rules and start a discussion: choose a category or reply to an existing thread.
Writing and formatting
The following formatting works in posts. HTML code is not accepted; it is shown as text. You can add a picture with the Picture button on the formatting bar (JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, at most 4 MB, at most 4 pictures per post). The picture is re-encoded and its details, such as location, are removed. Only upload pictures you have the right to use; do not upload other people's pictures without permission. Staff can remove a picture, and a reported post with its pictures is shown to the moderators.
| You type | Result |

Before sending you can press Preview. You can edit your own post for 24 hours; a moderator can edit or hide posts based on the rules.
Notifications and following
- You get a notification when someone replies in a thread where you have written, or mentions you (
@nickname). Notifications are behind the bell icon. - You can follow any thread with the Follow thread button. The threads you follow are listed in the sidebar under Followed topics.
- Email notifications are off by default; you can turn them on in your settings.
Profile and privacy
- In your settings you can add a PP2 player name and a short introduction. They are shown in your public profile. Your email address is not shown to others.
- You can download your own data as a file or delete your account in your settings. See also the privacy notice.
- Your name appears in the Online now list only if you have allowed it in your settings.
Keep your account safe
- Do not reuse a password from anywhere else. If another service leaks your password, criminals try it everywhere at once, including here. A long sentence (for example three words in a row) beats a short complicated password. A password manager helps you remember them.
- Two-factor authentication is recommended (mandatory for administrators and moderators). When you turn it on, you need a code from an authenticator app in addition to the password when you log in, so a leaked password alone is not enough to take over your account. Store the recovery codes somewhere safe (not on the same device).
- If you choose Remember this device, that device does not ask for the code for 30 days; the password is still asked. Do not choose this on a shared or public computer. In the settings you can see your trusted devices and forget them.
- The forum staff never ask for your password or your code (by email, message or otherwise). If anyone asks, it is a scam: report the message.
- Links go through a warning page first. Check the address before continuing, and do not enter passwords or bank credentials on a page you reached from a forum link. Do not download or install programs from an unknown link.
- You get an email when your account is logged in from a new device. If it was not you, change your password right away and log out your other devices in the settings.
Private messages
- You find private messages under the envelope icon in the top bar. You can start a conversation from a member's profile once your account is at least a week old and you have written a few posts.
- Protecting minors: at registration you state your age group (under 18 / adult). It is not shown to others. An adult cannot start a private message with a minor, but a minor can send a request to an adult or another minor. A minor's message requests always need approval, and minors get a safety reminder.
- The first message is a request. The recipient accepts or declines it (or blocks the sender). You can send one message until the request is accepted.
- In the settings you choose who can message you: requests (recommended), straight through, or nobody. You cannot contact a user who has blocked you, and the blocked user is not told.
- Do not share a password, bank details, your address or phone number in a private message with anyone you do not know. The forum staff never ask for them.
- You can report a suspicious or harassing message. Only the reported message and a few before it are shown to the moderators; nobody else reads your messages.
Problems and reports
If a post breaks the rules, use the post's Report link. Moderators handle the reports. If your post is hidden or deleted, you will be notified together with the reason. For anything else, see the contact page.
Languages
The forum works in Finnish and English. You switch language with the FI/EN selector in the top bar. Discussions are written in whichever language the author prefers.
